We were so smitten with los chicos guapísimos de Menudo during their visit to Tr3s that we became fans for life! They really know how to charm the ladies. The guys gave us the juicy details on their personal life and hilarious pre-show antics. Apparently, they love to eat like crazy before and after their shows so all you chicas who know how to cook should give them a little snack during their upcoming tour!
The guys got cozy with us (*blush*) and shared a few things about themselves, including their favorite Latin foods and what crazy fans cropped up during their tour with popthrobs the Jonas Brothers. Plus, José revealed to us that he loves NYC so much he’s considering moving to the Grand Manzana in the near future!

You chicos are pretty young, how do your parents feel when you go out on tour?
Emmanuel: My parents, they always give us advice [like] follow the rules [and] make smart choices. At the same time they’re excited that we’re doing what we love that give us the opportunity to being Menudo. That is something that is a part of their [parents] childhood and it’s really exciting cause we’re being part of other people’s childhoods. Our parents are amazing, we love them so much.
Carlos: My parents always tell me no matter what, pray for anything. God is always with us and always happy to support us and don’t forget about Him.
Christopher: I call my mom like every single night just to let her know I’m still alive (Laughs).
José: I’m mostly talking to my mom on Skype. That’s the best thing ever when you’re far apart. Carlos does too with his mom and friends.

There’s some mystery regarding the release of the new album. Any update for your fans?
Christopher: Well it’s a mystery for the fans and it’s also a big mystery for us ‘cause we don’t know what’s going on. (Laughs) but I can guarantee that as soon as we find out you’ll find out.
What’s the sound like?
Monti: Actually, each one of us have our different sound. I’m more Latin, Salsa, Merengue. Carlos will be more Hip-Hop, Jose the Pop Rock, Chris the R&B and Emmanuel the Reggaeton. When we combine our sounds and different genres and styles together that’s what makes the new sound of Menudo. Our new album is gonna have different styles such as R&B, Hip-Hop, Latin…
Emmanuel: It’s bilingual too…
Monti: Yea, so many styles like ballads. We worked with top producers like Akon, OneRepublic, so many great people that have inspired us.
Christopher: It’s going to be something you’ve never heard before but you’re going to love it.

While on tour with the Jonas Brothers, what crazy fan encounters have you experienced?
Monti: We were in the hotel and some of our fans that were their fans, they would stay in the hotel lobby waiting for us to come down and they wouldn’t leave. And one time we had some people follow us into where we live and that was kinda freaky.
Emmanuel: (Laughing) Yea very freaky.
José: When we were on tour we were on a Gibson bus and it’s pretty noticeable (Laughs) and they’d follow us everywhere and at each hotel you’d see a least one fan. And then Carlos and Chris have a story from when they were sleeping…
Christopher: We were in Lafayette, Louisiana, I think this was our third show with the Jonas Brothers and we’re sleeping cause we wanted to take a quick nap and we wake up to some girls laughing outside our window peeking through and we’re like OH MY GOD!! (Laughs).
Carlos: We didn’t expect that, we just woke up see faces in the window smiling.

What’s the best way for your fans to meet you on tour?
José: We always try to meet our fans when we’re on the road so every time when we get off the bus we usually go to the gate and sign autographs and take pictures. It’s 90% chance that we meet our fans.
Emmanuel: We always try to meet them personally cause that makes them feel part of the whole Menudo thing we’re doing now. I think it’s important for us to meet them personally and tell them how much we love them.

What are some of your fave Latin dishes when on tour?
Emmanuel: For us in Orlando, when the parents come, we have arroz, chuleta, pollo. You know, like real food.
Christopher: Rice and beans, rice and beans.
José: I’m very into tuna now. I’ve been a vegetarian for two years but I started eating meat again last week.
Monti: Now we gotta hide the meat (Laughs).
José: I’m only eating turkey and tuna, I’m not eating like…cow.

Anything else your fans need to know?
Christopher: Well definitely our fans can reach us at SayNow (on their MySpace page, and yes, they really do listen to them!) to leave a personal memo where they can reach all of us and you can also check out our info on Menudo.com.
Monti: The information for the tour is there so we hope to see you guys!
