To encourage young chavos to get out and vote, celebs from the hip-hop community are gathering in Philly this Sunday for the Hip-Hop Team Vote: Turn Up The Vote campaign to raise awareness. And making their appearance as the only Latinos on the panel is none other than reggaeton duo Alexis y Fido! Way to represent the brown comunidad boys. Check out which hip-hop celebrities are attending, plus hear what Alexis y Fido have to say to you about voting after the jump!

“No sólo es un honor ser los únicos Latinos en este panel, es una responsabilidad que tomamos con mucha seriedad. Se puede vacilar y gozar, pero hay que estar pendiente a lo que pasa en el país y votar es importante,” said Fido with Alexis adding “Votar es un privilegio, muchos países no pueden decir lo mismo; si no votas, quédate calla’o.”

Russell Simmons, rapper T.I., Ciara, Flo-Rida, Webbie and Lil Mama are just some of the A-list celebs attending the campaign. So all you Philly peeps need to get your booty over to Temple University’s Liacouras Center Arena at 1776 N. Broad Street in Philadelphia, PA at 1:00pm este domingo to see what these artists have to say about voting and the 2008 election. FYI, the Philadelphia primary is on April 22 so if you’re registered make sure you remember to vote!
