It’s all laughs and fun when you’re hanging out with la ‘Voz de un Ángel’ – a.k.a. Yuridia. Fortunately for us, we had a chance to hang out with the singer yesterday when she paid MTV Tr3s a lovely visit to shoot her upcoming Chicas Arriba special. Read our exclusive entrevista with Yuridia as she discusses her life, favorite things and addresses some untrue gossip!

Is it true you will be in the Mexican production of the hit play Wicked?
There’s like a big, humongous rumor that I’m going to be in the play in Mexico. They’ve been saying that a lot on the Internet. Yes it is a big rumor but I don’t think it’s true. I would love to be in it though.

Why do you think this rumor has grown so big?
The first time I came to the U.S. to promote that’s when it all started happening. I guess someone went on the Internet and found out [about the rumor] and they all just started asking. Since I kept repeating that it was a rumor everyone started asking [about it]. Yesterday I was at Virgin Mega Store [in Times Square] and I got the album for the music to Wicked and I just started listening to it.

Do you have any plans on venturing outside the music world?
I would love to do a lot of things. Acting is something that interests me a lot but I would have to study it so I can be able to convince people that I’m a certain person. That’s something that’s really interesting to me. I guess I would have to have a lot of guts to do it later on.

How do you juggle your personal life with your career?
That’s been very difficult for me since the beginning. Right now that’s something I’m trying to balance in life. Being with my family and working and really being able to be okay with it but it’s something difficult and I guess it happens to everybody. When you get a lot of work you miss home and when you stay home you have to go out and work. You have to really balance it out.

Do you find the paparazzi trying to invade your private life?
No, I think everything is okay. I think they [paparazzi] know there’s a limit to everything and they can’t really go past that line that you create from the start.

What’s something that most people don’t know about you?
I watch a lot of Friends and I cried at the season finale (laughs). I watch a lot of Friends. I like Ben and Jerry’s ice cream (laughs). I like listening to music from different countries, India and Italy. It’s really interesting. I try learning them [the languages].

What ridiculous gossip have you heard about yourself that are not true?
Endless. Umm, that I was pregnant a few weeks ago (laughs), that I was going out with some guy that worked with me, Mario (Mario Domm from Camila). Yea and that I was going crazy, that I’m a mean person, which I have no reason to be mean. You treat people the way you want to be treated and that’s something that I really believe in.

What artists have you met that you want to give a shout out to?
I met Antonio Carmona and I admire him a lot. He has a lot of cool music and a lot of cool stuff. And I love him (laughs).

Anything to say to your fans?
To all the people that have been supporting me throughout the beginning and right now, I want to say a really big THANK YOU. Capital letters (laughs).

We have reason to believe that VJ Carlos Santos is clinically insane. He makes an amazing host though.
