It’s almost that time of year mi gente…el momento del Moonman! Each year we look to the MTV Video Music Awards to provide us with a new brand of office cooler chisme. Whether it’s a surprising collabo kiss or a career-halting opening performance, we can always rely on M-Money to give us something to talk blog about. This year MTV is getting us, los fans, involved in the show; YOU determine which artists get nominated!

The nominee-picking process es super complicado so we’ve broken it out into steps for you:

UNO) Each week there are two VMA award categories eligible for voting. In each of these categories users can vote for suggested nominees, selecting from pools of MTV artists.

DOS) On each weekly episode of FNMTV you’ll hear which nominees were locked in for the prior week’s votable category. Additionally, you’ll hear which categories will be available for user voting next. Things kicked off this past Friday with Best Male & Best Female video and will end with the category of all categories — Video Of The Year.

TR3S) Make your voice heard and cast your vote before the polls close every Wednesday at 11am ET.

CUATRO) Not sure who to vote for? Browse the extensive list of eligible videos by ‘Most Viewed’ or ‘Most Recent’.

CINCO) Know who you’re looking for? Dive right into the ‘A-Z’ browse and select your favorite video.

Now we can make sure Latinos get a spot in this year’s nominations! Some Latinos to look out for in the current categories include: Julieta Venegas, Pitbull, Juanes, Baby Bash and Fat Joe. Cast your vota ahora! [MTV News]
