Haters, don't get it twisted...

Ivy Queen's bass-busting vocals have been cutting tracks with powerful anthems for las mujeres for over ten years now. In a genre where testosterone runs the game, the Latin Grammy-nominated Boricua has managed to sustain a powerful presence from el barrio to the Billboard charts. Her last album "Sentimiento" represents her highest debut ever, and showcases her versatile style while staying true to her painful "corta venas" experiences. Her wounds may have healed, but La Caballota is back in the studio working on her upcoming album "Drama Queen." Get all of the details from the diva herself in our exclusive interview right below the hood!
What can fans look forward to from your upcoming album "Drama Queen"?
It's going to be half hip-hop and half reggaeton based. Since it is called "Drama Queen," we are going to do some terrible stuff to the guys because you know I am always looking out for my ladies out there.
What are some struggles that you have faced as the only successful female en el mundo de reggaeton?
Mira, I feel proud of my job and I have struggled a lot to be where I am today. Even today it is still hard to be the only woman in the genre doing so many things in a beautiful way. I am always representing for the ladies and it is important for me to carry myself in a proper way. I still have my struggles, but I am human. I am still doing my thing, tú sabes.
Considering your album title, do you consider yourself a drama queen or a diva?
Well my fans actually titled me as a diva. If being a diva means that I have a maid at home...NO NO NO. You know I do my own laundry and I handled my stuff. I think I got that title because they see that I am the only woman standing. As far as being a drama queen, I think all women have a piece of it in them. We don't let men run the situation, and instead, we bring the drama to them.
Since Halloween is fast approaching, do you have a most memorable costume?
I am a witch don't you see? I left my broom outside because they told be I couldn't bring it into the studio. I am just kidding! I once dressed like an [obese] lady and the pillow I had tucked inside my outfit fell in front of everyone. It was embarrassing!
¡Qué chistosa! We are glad she knows how to run the game while also having a sense of humor. Be sure to keep it locked for an exclusive performance of Ivy Queen's new single "Dime" on Mi TRL this Thursday at 4pm and 9pm!
