Half-Puerto Rican rapper, Termanology celebrates '09 with a blazin' new mixtape...
The Lawrence, Mass. native just celebrated the release of his latest mixtape, "If Heaven Was a Mile Away" a J. Dilla tribute with a party last night at Sutra Lounge in NYC. The party was DJ'd by crew-mate, Statik Selektah with appearances by hip-hop royalty Just Blaze, Lil Fame of M.O.P, Skyzoo, DJ Who Kid and DJ Eclipse. The mixtape showcases Termanology's ability to twist urban philosophy into a new dimension.
Last year the 26-year-old shocked fans after signing a deal with Indie label, Nature Sounds after being courted by all the majors...

We caught-up with Mr. Term last night to ask about his decision and he stated:
[The industry] is confused when it comes to me personally. I went to every label. They don't know how to market me. They are like are you white? Are you Puerto Rican? Alright, You're Puerto Rican, so you do reggaeton? And I am like no! I like to be myself, so I am just going to stick to being me.
With his successful debut album, "Politics As Usual" and an upcoming tour, we see this Boricua is in it for the longterm. Pero, when will the industry learn Latinos don't all fit in one box??
