Most smooth operators would never deny believing in love at first sight, but Arcangel is keeping it real with las mujeres by defusing all the hype.

The “Por Amar A Ciegas” reggaetonero recently filmed his latest video in Miami, the epicenter for calendar models and video girls, but the family man admitted to strictly being about business. His romantic swagger and “Agresivo” tunes left us wondering if Arcangel is truly a player de corazón. We sat down with the Dominican newcomer to see what he really thinks about love at first sight.
He admits:
No, I don’t believe in it. I write this kind of music so that everyone can identify with it, but it doesn’t necessary reflect my own life. Of course, it doesn’t mean that there aren’t parts of my music that I do relate to…like loving someone with 100% loyalty.

¡Qué sweet! Forget the calle saying, “Players only love you when they’re playing!” Arcangel is leading a new breed of caballeros. Are you feelin’ this fella’s game?

Remember mi gente, you always hear it here first!

UPDATED: Archangel was set to appear on our “Sucker Free Latino” show last week, but production was postponed due to an altercation with airport police. Our investigative senses were immediately shifted to red alert, and we managed to get all the 411 from the source himself. The Boricua was flying from Puerto Rico to New York when an unidentified popo suddenly pulled a Kanye West and Snoop Dogg on the “Por Amar A Ciegas” estrella.
He reveals:
It was a really weird experience because I always spend my time traveling and this has never happened to me before. No sé porqué me pararon…de verdad. I wasn’t even carrying luggage with me. They must have mistaken me for someone else. I am just about the music, I am not in anything illegal or any stupid stuff like that.

When asked if he was handcuffed Archangel clarified:
No, they mentioned that it was a random search. People are very arrogant. I really don’t understand why they pulled me aside and made me miss my flight. They must have been cranky or something.
Archangel filed a report in the airport. We think these popo’s were probably just hating on all his bling! Arcangel is currently filming for MTV Tr3s in Miami. What do you think about his airport drama?

Reggaetonero Arcángel dishes about his upcoming solo debut titled “La Maravilla” due out this fall, that will include old material and twelve new tracks. Arcángel said on an interview that his new album will be:
Friendlier to the ears –as much for the kids as for the parents
That sounds great at all, but how can it be kid-friendly if it’s got a big ‘ol parental advisory stamped on the album cover?
Arcángel claims his debut album is not a reggaeton production but falls more into the Latin urban category. Whew, glad he cleared that up! [Billboard]

So, turns out reggaeton and hip hop have a lot in common besides an origin in urban music. There’s the way in which artists use music to make something out of nothing - that “something” being complete with hot cars, bling and sexy ladies of course. And now, they’ve even got the rivalries and perpetuating violence between artists in common. Who knew?
The rivalry between reggaetonero Archángel and Polaco has been brewing for quite some time now but now it’s gone beyond just “talk” (i.e. lyrics) to the very physical at a concert in Puerto Rico.

If you thought you’d never see De La Ghetto and Arcángel back in the same studio, think again. The album “Caribbean Connection” has brought the dominicano and boricua back together for a new song, “Movimiento Reptil.”

Since the duo parted ways De La Ghetto has been pursuing his solo career. The transition hasn’t been so easy for him since his inspiration and best friend, Tempo, is currently locked up.
Y de ahí en adelante la amistad fue bien grande, y más porque él tuvo mucha fe en mi. Y yo de verdad, para mi, su talento era increíble. Y de verdad, hicimos una amistad bien chévere.
Que lágrimas! Even reggaetoneros get sentimental from time to time. Look out for De La Ghetto’s album, Libertad y Condena, set to drop this summer. [MTV TR3s Radio Noticias]

Because he’s taking his trenzas off! Ya, we were surprised too. If you know reggaeton then you know cornrows are the signature look. Mira a Yandel back in the day and Don Omar and Tony Dize and…Jesús María we could go on forever! Here’s what Arcángel had to say about his pelito…
“Me cansé de que el pelo se me partiera. Las trenzas me daban mucho dolor de cabeza…sentía la cabeza muy apretada. Por eso, me verán con el pelo suelto.”
Say it ain’t so Arc, say it ain’t so. We know you’ll be back. Reggaeton stars are addicted to trenzas more than hot girls in their music videos. [WIKITON Magazine]
