Dinos que piensas of our 2009 Hotshots. Did we forget anyone? Do you agree with our picks?

Last night marked the premiere episode of Lopez Tonight. We caught it and thought George Lopez was nothing short of hysterical. The host started off the night by noting what America truly looks like: young, old, Black, White, Latino, Asian... and that change was finally coming to late night.  It's refreshing to see a Latino late night host, and we're glad that he did not disappoint!

Lopez brought his hilarious stand-up, amazing guests - which included the beautiful Eva Longoria Parker doing a number on a stripper pole - and audience games bien entretenidos to the line-up.  So what more can we expect from nuestro cómico favorito?  Well tonight should be good, as Marc Anthony and Jamie Foxx are scheduled to appear!  Mucha suerte, Señor Lopez!

George Lopez's new late night show Lopez Tonight premieres esta noche on TBS.  Joining Lopez for the premiere episode are actress, friend, and fellow Chicana, Eva Longoria Parker, talk show host and "American Idol" judge, Ellen DeGeneres, NBA all-star, Kobe Bryant and Grammy Award-winning rock legend, Carlos Santana. That's some red-hot talento he's got lined up... WAH PAH! We're impressed!

This is the perfect time for George to join the late night race. With Conan O'Brien wavering in ratings, and David Letterman tangled up in that inter-office romance/blackmail lawsuit, we think it's about time for a Latino to take over and add some spice to late night!

Latina Magazine is celebrating all things Mexico all month long! Not only is their cover art traditional and festive, but inside are articles celebrating the culture, people, and beauty of este país. Mexican Comedian George Lopez sat down for an interview with the mag, and here's a quick peek at his thoughts on staying true to his culture through his comedy, entering late night television, Carlos Mencia, and even President Obama.

On incorportating Spanish into his comedy:

I'm not afraid to speak Spanish and have somebody say, 'I gotta get an English-Spanish dictionary to understand.' That's your fu****g problem, he says. We're the largest growing demographic in the States. You don't get part of me, that's cool. Why can't you go to a show and not get it?

On entering the late night ring:

Letterman is the king of late night, he says. But I believe there's enough of a diverse audience and there's a bigger pie that I'm not fighting over the same slice that those guys are fighting over. I'm creating my own pie.

On his beef with comedian Carlos Mencia, whom Lopez accused of stealing his jokes:

I don't really talk about it no more. But there's no reason to reconcile.

During his HBO set, Lopez poked fun at President Obama and called him Latino for "living in a house that wasn't his," having his "mother-in-law raise his kids and spending money that he didn't have."

President Obama called me and he said,'Hey, Lopez, I hear you been clownin' me'."He breaks to dispense presidential cool points. That was his first line. This is from the president of the United States! [Latina]

Last night, the White House became La Casa Blanca y nuestro Presidente brought out even more of his Latino side than he has already... At least that was the running joke from George Lopez, Eva Longoria Parker, and Jimmy Smits that started off the "Fiesta Latina" showcase last night.

The event not only hosted amazing Latino figures (including the first Hispanic to sit on the Supreme Court, Justice Sonia Sotomayor), it was really a celebration of our culture y nuestra música. Obama spoke about the global appeal of our ritmo Latino, and how all cultures can tune into it. Some of those bringing down the house were Gloria Estefan, José Feliciano, and Los Premios nominees for Best MTV Tr3s Artist, Aventura, among others. But our favorite performance came from Thalía who asked President Obama to dance with her and called him "Machooo!" Love it!  Watch the clip of Obama dancing with Thalía here!

The grand finale had all the celebs on stage together, dancing to Gloria Estefan's "Mi Tierra." A perfect end to an amazing night. Stay tuned to MTV News for exclusive coverage.

The 22nd Annual Hispanic Heritage Awards were held this past Tuesday on Capitol Hill and it was definitely a star-studded affair. We caught up with MTV Tr3s VJ, Carlos Santos, who as we mentioned was the MC for the event, to get the exclusive inside scoop…

Biggest disappointment of the night: King of Reggaeton, Don Omar, was a no-show! El chisme es que Don Omar appeared to cancel at the last minute causing MAJOR mayhem! Scripts had to be changed and his performance replaced since he was scheduled to speak AND perform at the event. We hope he had a good reason for not showing, like working on a new album perhaps or spending quality time with his esposa, Jackie Guerrido – last we heard they were on the verge of a divorce, we’re hoping that was just a nasty rumor.

Best Performance: El romantico, Cristian Castro with his opening act of the night, “El Culpable Soy Yo.” Carlos couldn’t help but sing along as the Mexican superstar sang his heart out at the awards ceremony.

Most memorable quote: During his acceptance speech for the Achievement in Sports award, golden boy Oscar de la Hoya predicted that comedian George Lopez will be elected President of the United States in 2024! We think Oscar may be alone on that thought. Don’t get it twisted, we’re all for having a Latino in the White House, we hope it will happen before 2024, but we highly doubt it will be George Lopez!

Watch out for George Lopez!

The comedian is dropping the mic and flexing his ultimate kun fu moves. According to The Hollywood Reporter, el señor Lopez is set to play a CIA agent opposite Jackie Chan in the upcoming martial arts action-packed movie "The Spy Next Door." Chan stars as the protective hero hired to look after his vecinos kids after one of them discovers a secret code, which sparks drama. Word is that George's character is a deceptive detective who eventually faces-off with the kung fu master.

Sounds pretty gangster to us, but George is going to have to work on his kick! He may not win the fight, but at least he will have us rolling in our seats...guaranteed. [Latina]

It's that time of year again...

Es verdad, Latinos are all the rage on MTV Tr3s. However, from September 15- October 16, everyone is trying for a piece of la acción Latina. We decided to shake things up a bit this Hispanic Heritage month and spotlight Latinos that are changing the world, and the non-Latinos they've inspired.

You've seen Anglos trying to get a piece of the Latin sabor. Remember when Beyoncé was featured on the cover of People En Español, and when she sang "Beautiful Liar" with Shaki? What about Kim Kardashian? She may have the J. Lo booty down, and her hermano might be dating a Latina, but she's still a Wanna Be. And just because Aubrey O'day sports a Spanish language tattoo doesn't give her a pass either!

We all know someone who wants Latino cred. MTV Tr3s spotlights those wanna bes in pop culture today in the special "Top Tr3ce Wanna Be Latinos." Watch as real Latinos Carlos Mencia, Lin-Manuel Miranda, George Lopez, Ingrid Hoffman, Anjelah Johnson, Vida Guerra, and Adrienne Bailon (Cheetah Girls) help viewers score the “Latino-ness” of the wanna bes!

Catch "Top Tr3ce Wanna Be Latinos" when it airs tonight on MTV Tr3s @ 10pm.

Any other "wanna bes" we missed? Díganos!

Besides being dedicated to making a crowd roar with laughter, George Lopez has been a master at holding down a positive political dialogue during the Democratic National Convention.

Our street teamer, Michael Gonzalez caught the comedian urging everyone, including Latinos to get out and vote:

I don't feel like this country is serving not only Latinos, but people who are vital to this country and those are the people that get up and work hard everyday to make a difference in peoples lives. That is a Black, White, Asian, Latino thing. We have a chance in this election to make a difference.

You heard the man...¡Sí se puede! Who will you be taggin' your ballot for in November '08?

Chismes have been swirling that George Lopez may end up flashing his suave moves for the next season of ABC's Dancing With The Stars. While our spies are traveling the grapevine for the real scoop, we are wondering whether our pro-Obama homie would flex his dancing skills better than the show's alum Mario Lopez. Better yet, will he be paired with Mr. Lopez's ex-novia Karina Smirnoff? [Lossip]

Judging by Mario's moves on "America's Best Dance Crew"...

And his caliente dance with Eva Longoria at last year's ALMA Awards...

George has a lot to live up to! Si o no?

EXCLUSIVE UPDATE: George's rep officially denied that the comedian will be getting his groove on in Dancing With The Stars. Hey, it was entertaining while it lasted!
