Gypsies aren't a thing of the past...
Kat Von D already has successful author, rockin' tattoo artist, and pro make-up designer listed on her resume, but what does she hope to accomplish in the future? The Mexican-born reality star reveals that she envisions inking fine pieces of art for the rest of her life, but also hopes for a peaceful futuro that consists of playing the accordion, snapping professional pics and living like a shady gitana.
The estrella reveals:
I just plan on being a creepy, old gypsy woman that lives in some castle with my hairless cat. I’ll never stop tattooing ever, but as far as doing the show, if I one day stop doing it, or when I do, it’ll free my time up a lot. I got so many artistic ideas that I want to kinda start mastering, or try to at least. Or like playing the accordion. I just love the accordion. I want to learn how to play it. I’m going to teach myself.

From designing walking canvases to draping windows?
Let's be real, Kat Von D would never drop her sharp inking skills, but she does admit to having a passion for interior design. The reality television star put her hobby to the test by redecorating her novio, Nikki Sixx's Funny Farm photography studio for L.A. Ink. Transforming the boneless bachelor pad into a rocker's oasis was only half the battle.
Kat spoke about her inspiration and Nikki's reaction on her blog:
Think antique bordello hooker lounge meets Dr. Kevorkian medical room and taxidermy-heaven, Bela Lugosi's creepy library Den!!! Nikki's reaction is pretty f**king priceless!
Hmm...hookers and books are the perfect contrast! Something tells us that she won't be making the pages of Martha Stewart's Magazine, which is just fine in these streets.

We know how tat artist Kat Von D gets down on "LA Ink." Hand her a pencil, needle, and ink, and she holds the artistic mastery capable of transforming you into a walking canvas, but the make-up line entrepreneur admits that there are still social stigmas about the inked expressions that shouldn't be covered-up.
The 26-year-old recently launched her exclusive Sephora cosmetic line, which includes tattoo concealer, lipstick, and an application set. Kat Von D's artistic passion for maquillaje is as permanent as her tats, and she admits to never leaving the house without her trademark red lipstick and fresh eyeshadow. When it comes to her bold look, the Mexican-born artist reveals that she still experiences discrimination on the streets of Los Angeles.

We witnessed Kat Von D go back to her roots on "LA Ink" by visiting her childhood home and the first tattoo shop she worked at, but the tat expert is also digging into her past by revealing her battle with alcoholism.
The 26-year-old has achieved more than most artists her age, but she has also experienced her dose of growing pains. Kat admits that she began drinking heavily after her divorce from first husband Oliver Peck, and continued on that destructive route until she met her longterm novio Nikki Sixx.
In regards to her addiction she states:
I found myself drinking in the daytime, and that's when I realised that it was for function versus fun. I was gaining weight. I was hung over all the time. I couldn't remember anything... One day I woke up and said, 'I don't wanna drink anymore'.
She also talks about how her novio helped her clean-up:
Meeting Nikki was an eye-opener. He helped restore my faith in general. I've taken an oath to be honest and open with my life.

The 26-year-old reveals her true amor for Mexico:
Yeah, all the time. My mother, until recently, was living in Tijuana and I just moved her back to America to live with me. But we go there often, and one day I plan on retiring there. I love Mexico so much. It'll be nice to have a getaway house and eventually reside there.
Perhaps this will inspire a "Mexico Ink" spin-off in the future! We can just imagine abuelitas getting tatted-up by Ms. Von D. On second thought...we think "LA Ink" works just fine! [Latina]

Nikki is such a rad boyfriend, this last month, he surprised me with an AMAZING camera to shoot photos! We've both gotten really into taking photos - although I am in no way close to being a "pro - photographer" in any way - taking pictures has been an amazing outlet for me.
We can only imagine what kind of photoshoots these two are working on! Thankfully, Kat isn't quitting her day job any time soon...

Ok, maybe she's not actually writing but the deal is sealed with Harper Collins for the release of Kat's book that's going to be a "pictorial timeline" of her vida cuando esta wild chica was una niña chiquita in the tattooing world.
"Going through old photos, I found the very first tattoo I ever did at the age of 14, as well as photos of me tattooing at that age and all the silly hairstyles I rocked in between!" says Kat.
