Looks like there is life after RBD.  With Anahí's solo single "Mi Delirio" picking up steam and Poncho appearing en la novela Camaleones with Pee Wee and Belinda, the careers of los rebeldes don't seem to be suffering all that much since the demise de la banda.  So what has Dulce María been working on since wrapping up su más reciente telenovela, Verano De Amor?

Dulce María has started working on her debut solo album, and she's got big plans for her upcoming career.  La cantante peliroja recently revealed that she wants her new album to be a reflection of the "real" her.

Definitivamente quiero ser yo, no quiero hacer un disco pretencioso, no quiero hacer un disco que no tenga nada que ver conmigo y que sea comercial. Quiero un disco que hable de mí, de lo que yo quiero expresar, de lo que yo soy, de lo que yo creo.

Y como es la verdadera Dulce María?

Soy como cualquier otra chava de mi edad. Creo que todo lo que quieras lo puedes lograr, siempre y cuando no te dejes llevar por lo que todo el mundo hace o por lo que todo el mundo dice.

Dulce will start recording her first solo album in September.  We already can't wait to hear what she's got in store, but the album won't drop 'til 2010, así que nos tenemos que aguantar in the meantime.

El Evento 40 is a Mexican Lollapalooza multiplied by one hundred...

And it all went down just two days ago in the Estadio Azteca! Wisin y Yandel joined the annual musical marathon after closing-off their worldwide tour over the weekend. After tempting los fans with their "La Mente Maestra" genius, Dulce Maria and Akon rocked the escenario with their much-talked-about bilingual remix for "Beautiful." The "Don't Matter" fella was so excited that he ripped his white t-shirt off and threw the rest of its remains into the crowd...

This is no sorpresa to us...

Dulce María was asked to star as the Aphrodite figure in Akon featuring Colby O'Donis' new video, "Beautiful." The ex-RBD member dropped Spanish verses on the track and filmed the video alongside the hitmaker in Mexico yesterday. Adding to the "Verano de Amor" marathon, Dulce is set to perform the remixed version of the canción for the Los 40 Principales radio tour on April 1st.

The redheaded chica recently spoke to La Opinión about working with Akon on set:

Estoy feliz, porque Akon es un artista grandísimo, importantísimo en Estados Unidos y muchas partes del mundo. Trabajar juntos es una oportunidad única.

Dulce María has weaved herself into a tangled web of chismes...

Besides shooting a controversial topless scene, the redheaded estrella is also rumored to be hooking-up with her "Verano de Amor" co-star, Pablo Lyle. They have been spotted hanging-out on la playa in Mexico together, but Dulce María insists that they are just amigos...besides she is too busy with her career to even focus on boys.

The actress reveals to Terra:

No pienso en nada más que en seguir adelante. Doy un paso a la vez, y ahora lo único que realmente me importa es mi carrera, mi disco y seguir creciendo como artista.

"Verano de Amor" may not be as controversial as the Colombian-based telenovela, "Sin Senos no hay Paraíso," but the script does include a rated-R momento with Dulce María. The Rebelde star filmed a topless scene for the new soap opera currently airing in Mexico. Without a doubt, showing Dulce's mangoes is bound to bring in a high peak in ratings, but at what cost?

Some critics are comparing the redheaded star's racy role to Belinda's sex scandal. Perhaps they didn't receive the memo...the pop star's controversy was actually real! Regardless, Dulce María responded back to los haters. Check it right below!

Dulce Maria is doing more than just acting (and snagging a new novio) in "Verano de Amor"...

The multifaceted estrella also wants to sing about matters of el corazón. Dulce Maria has healed from the RBD break-up and is prepared to conquer the pop music scene completamente sola. Although the untitled album hasn't been finalized just yet, the redheaded belleza announced that she hopes to drop the album in June or July of this year.

She quickly stated to the media:

Word on the telenovela set is that the redheaded chica is dating her "Verano de Amor" co-star, Pablo Lyle. The 21-year-old (and his young looking Enrique Iglesias carita) is known for heating-up las noches in soap operas like "Código Postal" and "Fuera de Juego." Now the on-and-off-screen lovebirds are taking their roles seriously while filming in las playas of Veracruz. Por favor, can you blame them?!
