La Primera Dama Michelle Obama joined the U.S. Soccer Foundation, The National Alliance for Hispanic Health, Adidas and others last Friday in Washington, D.C. as part of her Let's Move campaign encouraging kids to get at least 60 minutes of exercise per day.  About 60 children who participated were able to experience a once in a lifetime experience: playing fútbol with Michelle Obama!  The first lady also spoke about physical activity and proper dieting.

Last week's event also showcased soccer as a fun way to encourage kids to stay active and among those who helped with the exercises was former U.S. National Team member Eddie Pope and Jaime Moreno from DC United.

ESPN's Bob Griese has been suspended for a week and ordered to make a public apology after making racist remarks about Colombian NASCAR driver Juan Pablo Montoya. While commentating during Saturday's Ohio State-Minnesota football game, a promotion for NASCAR pictured the top five drivers, yet Montoya wasn't included. When fellow broadcaster Chris Spielman asked why Montoya wasn't pictured, Griese responded "(He's) out having a taco." Griese later apologized during the broadcast calling the comment "inappropriate."

When Montoya was asked to respond to Griese's remark, he issued this statement:

"I don't even know who (Griese) is. Somebody mentioned it to me. I don't really care, to tell you the truth. I could say I spent the last three hours eating tacos, but I was actually driving the car." [Latina]

ESPN is losing broadcasters left and right. Griese's comment occurred just one day after the network fired Steve Phillips for having an affair with a 22 year-old production assistant.

Do you think a suspension is enough, or should Bob Griese get the axe too? Weigh in below!

It's official!!

The heartfelt pleas of Brazilian President Luis Inacio Lula Da Silva reached the ears and hearts of the International Olympic Committee and for the first time ever, the Olympic games will be held on the South American continent in the year 2016!

It would have been nice for the U.S. to host them here in Chicago, but for some unknown reason the bid was knocked out of the race within the first round of votes. Not even the presence of President Obama and our reigning television queen Oprah were enough to sway the IOC.

Pero como dijo President Da Silva, "It is time to light the Olympic cauldron in a tropical country." Even Pelé teared up from the emotion! This means that between the World Cup in 2014, and the Olympic Games in 2016, Brazil will be host to the two largest sporting events in the world! Go Brazil!

Our Portuguese isn't too sharp, but we'll leave you with this quote from Ricky Martin's Twitter page: "Rio Parabens Cidade Maravilhosa!!!O Rio vai dar um show em 2016!!! SAMBA OLIMPICA!"

Gracias Ricky y felicitaciones para Brazil y toda Suramérica!! [Comcast]

Rene was Tweeting last week about London's gray weather, telling us about Eduardo's love of donuts, and complaining about how he paid 16£ for a mojito, y ahora sabemos por qué!

Congrats muchachos! [Hissip]

We first introduced you to Mexican-American wrestling extraordinaire, Henry Cejudo when we spotlighted his Olympic win during Hispanic Heritage Month last September...

We decided to play catch-up with the youngest Olympic gold medalist in U.S. historia to hear about how life post-Beijing has been treating him. The 21-year-old got his start with the wrestling game by fighting kids in the streets of Los Angeles for helado (no joke). Since he has been set on wrestling mode for the last year, we gladly decided to quiz him on all things pop culture during his visit at the MTV Tr3s studios in NYC.

Check out what our fun-loving Henry had to say about his love life and Daddy Yankee after the jump. Read more...
