Award season is at its prime and we have the latest news on your favorite Premios Lo Nuestro nominees...

Wisin y Yandel and Juanes have topped la lista of nominations, but this batalla won't be easy to conquer. The dynamic duo will be fighting for several musical crowns, including "Best Artist of the Year," "Album of the Year" for "Los Extraterrestres," and "Song of the Year" for "Sexy Movimiento" and "Ahora Es." We think they definitely have a win sealed with two nominations in the same category!

Juanes also received high honors by receiving three nominations in the category "Song of the Year" for his chart-topping songs, “Arde el Cielo,” “Gotas de Agua Dulce,” and “Me Enamora.” His soul competitor will be Mana, which also snatched double noms in the categoria.

RBD may be retired from pop música, but the rebeldes will fight Belanova for the "Best Group of the Year" award. Did we also mention that Daddy Yankee and Don Omar are having it out for "Best Artist of the Year"?! The claws and fists are out! (Yes, that includes Ivy Queen.)

2008 was a big year for Latin artists crossing over, just ask Mexican pop trio Belanova.

Their third studio album, "Fantasia Pop" proved to be the charm garnering the group their first Latin Grammy win this year. MTV News chatted with pop sensación Belanova to talk about their electrio vibes and the possibility of un nuevo album in 2009. Hear what they have to say right below! [MTV News]

The holidays came early for our favorite artists during the 2008 Latin Grammy Awards last night.

Julieta Venegas sparkled with alegría after winning "Best Alternative Music Album" and "Best Music Video - Expanded Version" for her masterful “MTV Unplugged” compilation. The glowing estrella also worked her accordion and vocal expresiones with a live performance of "El Presente." Luckily the timely celebration didn't end there.

La noche's theme was all about listening to the lyrics. Sin duda, Juanes encompassed the meaning with "La Vida Es un Ratico," which toppled the competition by snagging five Latin Grammy Awards, including "Album of the Year," "Best Male Pop Vocal Album," and "Best Song of The Year" for "Me Enamora."

The Colombiano also performed an R&B remixed rendition of "Odio Por Amor/Hate For Love" with the legendary John Legend. In between all of the excitement, Juanes gave a grande GRACIAS to everyone:

I can't believe it. I am very, very happy, very grateful to life, to music, to God, to the Academy. For me, this has been incredible. It's a dream.

His sueño appeared complete after sharing kisses with his amor Karen Martinez. The love didn't stop there...and no we don't mean Juanes ran around giving besos to all of las chicas! There were plenty of other artistas that celebrated their eventful win.

Flex also shared the romance by winning the award for "Best Urban Song" for his hit single "Te Quiero."

Professional reggaetoneros, Wisin y Yandel also flexed their smooth movimientos by winning the "Best Urban Music Album" Latin Grammy for "Los Extraterrestres."

Café Tacuba offered a heavy dose of energía with a show-stopping performance. The rocking quartet ruled the festivities by dominating the categories for "Best Rock Song" for "Esta Vez" and "Best Alternative Song" for "Volver a Comenzar."

The rocquero steez continued to take over with help from Belanova. The synth-pop rock band took home the Latin Grammy for "Best Duo or Group Album" for "Fantasía Pop."

Los Premios have left some sweet leftovers worth picking at...

And we aren't just talking about Katy Perry's cake-a-licious performance! Todo el mundo was blowing-out the candles for MTV Latin America's official quinceañera. What a better way to top off 15 years in the making than by having Juanes, Belanova, Tokio Hotel, Calle 13, Cafe Tacuba, Metallica, and many others share the same stage in una noche!

MTV News caught-up with the "Monsoon" roqueros about winning the "Best Fan Club" pierced lengua:

We love our fans! We have the best fans in the whole wide world.

Ain't that the truth?! Check out the clip right below.

¡Qué chido! Our infamous tongue award was aiming to please and spreading the love at last night's Los Premios in Guadalajara, Mexico.

Sin duda, Juanes received the most awarding licks (keep your thoughts PG 13 por favor!). The "Odio Por Amor/Hate For Love" peace advocate snagged four chévere trophies for "Artist of the Year," "Best Solo Artist," "Best Rock Artist" and "Best Artist - Central." Despite his big win, the Colombian offered his roquero cred to música legends Metallica.

Juanes stated:

I am here thanks to Metallica. When I was 13 I listened to [their] first record and I went to buy an electric guitar. I decided to become a musician.

The "La Vida es un Ratico" star may have snatched the most awards, but their were plenty of grande winners throughout the night. Retro performers, Belanova also received some pierced pink tongues for "Video of the Year" and "Best Artist - North." Our chica Denisse Guerrero was showing off her own lengua while giving screaming fans some competition on-stage...

Pero, who left fanáticos spell bound enough to steal the "Best Fan Club" award? The tongue-twistin' German rock grupo TOKIO HOTEL! Bill, Tom, Georg, and Gustav received enough tongue awards to go around by also winning the categories for "Best Song of the Year," "Best Ringtone," and "Best International New Artist."

Our heads are still throbbing from la noche's festivities! Be sure to check out the complete list of winners at MTV Latin America, and keep it locked because there is more Los Premios insanity to come.

SMACK! Katy Perry may own bragging rights to her girl-on-girl besito sessions, but we discovered a sweet new trademark for la cantante...

'Los Premios' Dulce Quinceañera' sounds about right! The "I Kissed A Girl" starlet traded her red lipstick for pink frosting after diving into a super-sized birthday cake at the end of her set. Not only did the fall look painful, but so did her unsuccessful recovery. After three failed attempts to stand-up, la pobre Katy ended up crawling her way off-stage like a perrito on all fours! Besides getting a taste of embarrassment, the "Hot and Cold" singer was nice enough to share a piece of her tortita with her band members. Haven't caught the infamous performance yet? Entonces check it right below!

We all know Katy Perry stole all of the cake batter, but she definitely didn't take all the glory. Los Premios was filled with debut moments including Calle 13 and Café Tacuba's premiere performance of their energetic collaboration “No Hay Nadie Como Tú.” We noticed Residente have an early start on the track, but he finished it just right by jumping into a crowd of hungry fans. The Boricua was quickly devoured and walked back on-stage shirtless (¡Ay, que chulo!).

Juanes también left the ladies swooning after debuting his new bilingual single "Odio Por Amor/Love For Hate." The revolutionary roquero chanted "It's Time To Change" while he also paid tribute to Metallica's legacy by shouting his love for '¡La mejor banda del hijuep**ta mundo!'

You think these moments are bad ass? Be sure to check out more performance pictures of Los Premios right below the hood!
