Our favorite Venezuelan/Colombian from 'That 70's Show' is back! This time, however, Wilmer Valderrama is putting his acting chops on hold to jump detrás de las camaras to direct an episode of Disney children's TV show 'The Imagination Movers' in New Orleans.

So how does he feel about sitting in the director's chair?

"I love it… I get to appreciate both sides now, being in front of the camera and behind the camera."

But Wilmer is no stranger to sitting in the hot seat. He previously directed the video for Omar Cruz & Frankie J's collabo "To The Top." If he keeps it up we may have the next Latino Spielberg on our hands! [AP]

Perhaps Selena Gomez's recent appointment to ambassador at UNICEF will finally make those trick-or-treat cash collection boxes chic on Halloween.

Gomez, who worked on the 2008 Trick-or-Treat Halloween Campaign for UNICEF, is the youngest ambassador selected by the United States Fund.  The Wizards of Waverly Place actress will leverage her fame and talent to raise money for children's causes abroad and educate others about following the UNICEF mission, to reduce the percent of preventable deaths in children.

About her appointment, the young Latina told the press:

I know we can achieve this because every moment, UNICEF is on the ground providing children with the lifesaving assistance needed to ensure zero [deaths] becomes a reality.

Selena's UNICEF work will sure teach this pretty young thing to take on a more low maintenace routine.  As her first act of duty, Gomez will visit Ghana, one of the countries holding the highest rate of mortality in children under five.  There, the Disney actriz will observe the sordid conditions in which West African children live, and help propose solutions on how to improve their quality of life.

Gomez isn't the only celebrity on the UNICEF roster. The actress-singer joins fellow ambassadors Joel Madden, Lucy Liu, Clay Aiken, Alyssa Milano and Sarah Jessica Parker in the good fight for los niños. [Unicef.org]

Selena Gomez has a lot to be excited about!

The Latina Disney star recently announced the creation of her new band, "The Scene," as well as the name of her upcoming debut album, Kiss and Tell.  Her new single, "Falling Down," is due out in a few days y la cantactriz has been working on her new music video (see the photo she posted from her video shoot here!).  In addition to her budding music career, Selena just won a Teen Choice Award for her role in Disney summer TV-movie Princess Protection Program with Demi Lovato, and is promoting the upcoming TV release of Wizards of Waverly Place: The Movie (August 28th).

When we asked the bewitching tejana what her favorite part of shooting on location for Wizards in Puerto Rico was, she was quick to respond:

My favorite part of shooting in Puerto Rico would have to be the food and the people.  The people were very nice.  My favorite food there were the rice and beans, for sure.  They were so good!

Guess we'll have to put an order in to abuelita, porque Selena's making us hungry!

But what we really wanted to get out of Selena was something no one else knows about.  Tu sabes, the juicy chisme!  May we present to you, dos cositas you did not already know about Selena Gomez!

Let's face it, they have to share their embarrassing moments with the entire world! Demi Lovato recently experienced a let-me-crawl-in-a-deep-dark-hole experience after taking a slip on stage during a performance over the weekend. The Disney singer took a mean tumble while singing "Until You're Mine," but she simply laughed it off and got right back on her two feet.

Who said good girls can't have a wild side?

Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato were in an adventurous mood on Saturday night after crashing a senior prom for the Etobicoke Collegiate Institute. Gomez was celebrating the premiere of their Disney channel flick Princess Protection Program at Toronto's Liberty Grand Entertainment Complex and decided to escape the red carpet and venture into the lowkey festivities. After surprising a group of fans and dancing la noche away, la chiquita went back to invite Lovato into the mix.

The "Wizards of Waverly Place" star later Tweeted about her experience:

PPP peeps and I crashed a prom tonight and danced with a highschool!! amazing!! I finally had prom!

Imagine having Selena and Demi crash your prom?! Glad they finally know how real high school estudiantes get down. [People]

It's no surprise that Selena Gomez is super secretive about her personal life...

When we sat down with the Disney star last September, she stayed very mum about her rumored relationship with Nick Jonas. Now Selena isn't treating the romance tabloid frenzy with "Twilight" actor, Taylor Lautner any differently. The teen stars met in Vancouver while Selena was filming, "Ramona and Beezus." Even with her guard up, la chica claims that whatever she had with Taylor is now over. She also revealed publicly that she is single and they are 'just friends.'

Selena Gomez said goodbye to her long tresses and replaced it with a mature bob-cut. La chiquita was seen rocking the new do at the Pediatric AIDS Foundation benefit event in Los Angeles. You won't have to guess any longer! The "Wizards of Waverly Place" star has announced on her blog that she will begin filming her personal journey while recording her upcoming album for fans. La chiquita appears wise beyond her years, but she admits that she has the same life challenges as any normal teen girl. Let's face it, not every normal girl is rumored to be dating Taylor Lautner. Regardless, Selena wants to spread her knowledge of la vida to the world.

She writes on her blog:

What I hope my fans learn from my journey is that you should not ever let anyone bring you down or stop you from trying something you want to do. You will be the one who will live with regret not them.

What is making Selena Gomez shine with more alegría than ever?

Some may argue that her rumored new love connection with Twilight's Taylor Lautner may be the main reason, but our chiquita doesn't strike us as the boy crazy type. The Disney star published a blog post on her site this morning about her adventures while filming her new movie, "Ramona and Beezus” in Canada. Selena candidly admits that the non-Disney project was a 'little scary' at first, but she drops the cliche yet insightful life lesson 'everything happens for a reason.'

Selena also revealed what brings her true felicidad:

I walked off set to get back to the hotel and saw three little 8 yr girls waiting outside and i got hit with yet another realization... no matter what, my fans ALWAYS make me smile. Honestly there is no such thing as a 'bad day' when i encounter a fan, its just beautiful.

Tickets for this flick are going to sell just as fast as The Hannah Montana Movie! How would you brighten Selena's spirits?
