One of the greatest nights in Latin music came alive with a spectacular three-stage opening performance featuring Chayanne, Thalía and Alejandro Fernández who sang some of their most recent hits as well as long time favorites.

Reggaeton king Daddy Yankee surprised everyone with one of the biggest productions of the night set against a virtual, futuristic backdrop that included a special lightning effect for the live, blowout premiere of his latest single “Descontrol.”

While bachata group Aventura mesmerized the audience as they flew through the arena on top of a bridge for their medley performance of “Su Veneno” and the live premiere of “Dile al Amor.”

Pop diva Paulina Rubio performed an exclusive remix of her most recent hit “Ni Rosas Ni Juguetes,” which was broadcast with a special black and white effect, only seen by viewers at home, resembling an old wild-west movie.

Additional performances included: Héctor “El Torito” Acosta's “Sin Perdón” with Colombian duo Jorge Celedón and Jimmy Zambrano, Paquita la Del Barrio sang “Rata de Dos Patas”; Nelly Furtado’s crossover performance of “Manos al Aire,” pop artist Pee Wee’s performance of a special mix of his hit “Quédate”; Jenni Rivera’s performance of “Ya Lo Sé"; the live debut of Tito “El Bambino’s” new single “Te Pido Perdón”; Alejandro Fernández and Chayanne performed their respective hits “Se Me Va La Voz” and “Me Enamoré de Ti”; and a fantastic closing number by Puerto Rican merengue group Grupo Manía which brought the audience to its feet.

If you thought Paulina Rubio's version of "Ni Rosas Ni Jugetes" with Cobra Starship at Los Premios was surprising, well, she's got even more in store for us con este segundo sencillo off her Gran City Pop album. She's already collaborated with club-hit-maker Pitbull for one mix, but this time around, Pau Pau teamed up with Mexican diva Jenni Rivera for a banda remix of the track!

These two super estrellas share a mutual respect for one another, and were definitely thrilled to work together. Even though they sing in different genres, Jenni pointed out the traits they have in common: "Nuestro carácter, nuestras influencias mexicanas, y nuestro orgullo de mujer."
La nueva versión of "Ni Rosas Ni Jugetes" hits radio airwaves in the U.S. and Puerto Rico today, so make sure to listen up for that! It will also be available for digital purchase on November 23rd.
More power to you ladies!

We're hoping that Jenni Rivera's nuevo sencillo "Ovarios" shows the regional Mexican cantante that it's always darkest before the dawn. Rivera, who is currently coping with the death of her ex-husband, has blown away the Billboard competition with her new, eggcentric ballad.
"Ovarios" jumped the regional Mexican airplay chart from 29 to 13 en una sola semana! This marks Rivera's 13th song to reach the Top 20 on Billboard's regional Mexican chart, a feat only one other female artist has accomplished, nuestra querida "Reina del Tex Mex," Selena.

"Ovarios" has not only brought career success to the singer, but it's unleashed un montón de drama in the Mexican music circuit. In "Ovarios" Rivera habla de dos cantantes regionales de México with whom she's feuded, Alicia Villarreal and Graciela Beltrán, respectively referring to them as "la Jefa" y "la Reina:"
...dicen que viene la Jefa, miren cómo estoy temblando, no sé de quién serán jefas si nadie les hace caso, y las que dicen ser Reinas son de un pueblo abandonado.

Heartbreak has hit the Rivera family once again...

Jenni Rivera's ex-husband Juan López passed away at a Lancaster hospital yesterday. The father of her two children Rivera de Jenicka and Johnny Ángel was rushed to the emergency room after falling greatly ill. Unfortunately, the hospital staff did not allow the ranchera singer and her family to visit Juan during his final hours due to increased security because of their celebrity status.
According to People en Español, the superstar is completely devastated by the recent events:
Es una locura. Por un lado, por mi nombre y mis logros en mi carrera me inmortalizan y me premian, pero al mismo tiempo me quitaron la oportunidad de visitar al hombre que alguna vez amé en los últimos momentos de su vida.

We send our condolences to Jenni y familia. Que en paz descanse. [People en Español]

Jenni Rivera is celebrating a special family addition with us today...

The ranchera has officially announced that she is an abuelita! Her daughter Jackie is currently five months pregnant. Although Jenni has suffered plenty of heartache (especially since her ex-husband is currently in prison), she must be celebrating the special blessing. We think she makes a pretty good looking grandmother don't you think? Felicidades! [Univision]

Wherever Jenni Rivera goes, a juicy story is never far behind:

Yesterday the regional Mexican cantante was arrested in Mexico City's International Airport before boarding un vuelo a los Estados Unidos. Turns out Jenni was packin' -- dinero, that is. La reina de la banda stowed away more than 50K in undeclared CASH en su equipaje. And you thought scissors and more than 3 oz. of liquid was devious!
Rivera told authorities that she was carrying 20K on her trip, but $52,167 was discovered in the singer's carry on luggage during a random search. Jenni's publicist, Arturo Rivera, had nothing to say about the bust.
"Cupable O Inocente"? Jenni's no stranger to legal trouble; looks like this Premio Lo Nuestro ganadora is gonna be slapped with a guilty charge.
