On New Year's Eve, the British comedian asked Perry to marry him, and she accepted, the couple's respective reps confirm. Brand popped the question in a tent at the foot of a mountain.
"In India, the motto is...you gotta go with the flow," she tweeted teasingly on Dec. 30, just 24 hours after they visited the Taj Mahal, which she joked he built for her. (Twitter)
In the latest issue of Glamour, Katy hinted at the future proposal:
"When I find a partner who is my teammate...I'm not going to play by any rules, I'm just going to go with my heart. Why wait? I just wrote a song [that goes], 'They say it's hard to meet your match, gotta find my other half so we can make a perfect shape.'"
The couple began their courtship shortly after the MTV Video Music Awards last September, previously reported by Blogamole (read up on how they met here). The former playboy confirmed their relationship on Britain's GMTV, calling Perry "the right one" and admitting marriage "would be good."
The Nominees for the 52nd Annual Grammy Awards were announced this week and Beyoncé leads the pack with 10 nods! Her 'Video Phone' co-star, Lady Gaga walked away with 6 nominations, and country star Taylor Swift grabbed eight!
Other notable Grammy nominees include: Calle 13, Paulina Rubio, Ricardo Arjona, Wisin y Yandel, Katy Perry, Adele, Pink, and Kanye West.

The premiere for Michael Jackson documentary 'This Is It' went down in Los Angeles Tuesday night and was chock full of our favorite red-carpet ready Latinos! The roster included Jennifer Lopez, Roselyn Sanchez, Mario Lopez, Rosie Perez, and even former MTV VJ, Daisy Fuentes. Will Smith and Katy Perry also attended, as well as Paris Hilton and Paula Abdul. 'This Is It' hit theaters yesterday and will run for two and weeks. The film follows Jackson during the concert rehearsals leading up to his untimely death.
La cantante talks about how 'MTV Unplugged' allows artists to be more themselves. She will be peforming a stripped down, jazzy version of her mega-hit "I Kissed A Girl." La Perry also mentioned how her larger-than-life personality is reflected en su forma de vestir. Claro, Katy, we'd noticed that!

If you missed Los Premios MTV 2009 last night on MTV Tr3s and you're kicking yourself for it today, we really can't say we blame you... Between all the amazing multi-city performances from artists like Shakira, Alejandro Sanz, Cobra Starship with Paulina Rubio, and Fall Out Boy, to name a few, it's really hard to pinpoint which one thrilled us the most. Even host Nelly Furtado got down and kicked off the night with her own performance. And say what you may about her co-host, Residente Calle 13, no se puede negar que el hombre es honesto!

Katy Perry and 2009 MTV VMA Host, Russell Brand, are OFFICIAL! After sharing a kiss at Lady Gaga's VMA after party, the two have been inseparable, even vacationing in Thailand together. That was quick! The duo were spotted in London last week, and are currently in Paris for fashion week, along with Perry's BFF, Rihanna.[PerezHilton]

The 2009 VMAs was chock full of good music, juicy drama and out-of-this-world fashion.
Janet Jackson's tributo a su hermano, Michael, was not only a really heartfelt memorial, but also featured some of the most renowned choreography in the history of MJ's illustrious career, with recreations of "Thriller," "Bad," "Smooth Criminal," and "Scream." Host Russell Brand kept the dirty jokes flying, Pop Queen Madonna paid tribute to the late King of Pop, and Kanye West did his best to steal the show but was promptly escorted out of the venue for another awards show outburst. No nos sorprendió mucho! Lady Gaga wowed with her ever-inventive vestuario, and even the Twilight cast showed up to show off the drama-filled trailer for 'New Moon.'
While Wisin y Yandel didn’t win for "Best Pop Video," Latin artists were definitely in the house! Pitbull and Wale performed a hip-hop go-go version of "I Know You Want Me," and Mr. 305 made sure to give a big shout-out to all the Latinos! Also representing at the show were Shakira, JLo and hubby Marc Anthony, "Blaxican" Pussycat Doll Melody Thornton, and honorary Latina Nelly Furtado who gave el Dúo Dinámico a nod during her presenter's speech.

The duo may take home as many as seis lenguas if they win every award they've been nominated for at this year's Los Premios MTV, from the MTV Latin America awards for Artista del Año y Mejor Artista Urbano to our award for Best MTV Tr3s Artist. Other heavy contenders on October 15th will be Paulina Rubio, who has five nominations and Lady Gaga who has four.
This year, Premios is definitely going to rock out; roqueros Zoe received four nominations this year. Nominees for Artista del Año are also quite diverse, from reggaetoneros Wisin y Yandel and alterna sweetheart Ximena Sariñana to pop diva Paulina Rubio and rockers Kudai.
Ring the alarm, porque the VMAs just got hotter! Beyoncé, who is tied with fellow performer Lady Gaga for the most nominations este año, has just been added as a performer to the already star-studded show!

Also announced today was the addition of a house band, emceed by hip-hop newcomer Wale. El rapero has collaborated with artists such as Cuban rapper Pitbull, Lady Gaga and the All-American Rejects on his upcoming debut album, Attention Deficit, due out on October 20th.
