Many mainstream music listeners may not know about Aventura. However, this week the Bachata boys are making history by not only out selling the new avant garde sensation Lady Gaga, but they're also the first Latino group ever to snag four dates at New York City's Madison Square Garden with shows tonight, tomorrow and Feb. 1 and 2; putting them in a league with the likes of Madonna.

While Aventura toplines the 19,000-strong Madison Square Garden, Lady Gaga is performing down the street at Radio City Music hall, a 6,000 capacity venue, for an equal number of shows.  That puts Aventura on track to sell more than three times the number of tickets La Gaga can.

By that measure, it may seem odd that, of the two, it's Gaga who gets all the press. To that, Romeo had this to say:

"We don't mind that she's treated differently. We're in a different world. Artists (like Lady Gaga) have a major label and lots of marketing behind them. But it's even more exciting for us to know that we're accomplishing these things without having that machine."

For 21 weeks, Aventura's most recent CD, "The Last," has sat atop Billboard's Latin Music Chart, ­spawning three No. 1 singles while supporting a tour that ranks among the three top-grossing road shows of '09, right behind Miley Cyrus' and Britney Spears'. 

With this type of success, rumors of a crossover album plague the Bronx born Bachata crooners. Romeo weighed in on the ongoing controversy:

"Personally I would never separate Spanish and English. I don't want to say we don't care about a crossover. But we're not saying 'Oh, we got to do it.' We're doing things that, honestly, a lot of Anglos can't — like four Garden shows. For us, that's enough."  (NYDailyNews)

The People's Choice Awards went down at Los Angeles' Nokia theater Wednesday and it was an evening full of fun fashion!

First up! Dania Ramirez looked fierce in fuschia.

Sofia Vergara stole the show in a strapless gray gown and gold beaded necklace.

Jessica Alba shined in a metallic mini with capped sleeves.

Disney's Demi Lovato looked demure in blue ruffles.

Taylor Swift looked picture perfect in a white strapless mini and took home the award for Favorite Female Artist.

And we can't forget about the biggest winner of the night: TWILIGHT! The vamps swept the award show, claiming four trophies in total, including favorite movie, favorite on-screen team (an award given out to the entire cast) and favorite franchise. Taylor Lautner was awarded Favorite Breakout Actor as the series' sexy werewolf, Jacob Black.

Other major winners included Lady Gaga who won Favorite Breakout Music Artist and Favorite Pop Artist.  Johnny Depp won Favorite Movie Actor, while Miley Cyrus won Breakout Movie Actress. (People)

Taylor Lautner's got abs of gold. "New Moon" has reeled in $288 million in just seven weeks in theaters, making it the fifth-highest-grossing film of the year and climbing. Now the movie's star is about to get paid. Big-time.

Lautner is set to earn $7.5 million for his next picture, according to a Deadline.com report, making him the highest-paid teen in Hollywood. The film, titled "Northern Lights," will pair the 17-year-old with Tom Cruise. The plot is described as a story about "a gifted young aerobatics pilot who faces off with his controlling billionaire father and falls in love with a gifted female pilot.

According to the Deadline.com story, young stars like Zac Efron and Miley Cyrus have not commanded a paycheck nearly as large as Lautner's. And the "Twilight" werewolf might get even more cash for his future projects.

A December report in Variety indicated that "Breaking Dawn," the final book in the "Twilight" saga, may be split into two films, which would force Summit Entertainment to reopen negotiations with Lautner and co-stars Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart. Based on the blockbuster success of "New Moon," that would likely mean a monster raise for Lautner.

Lautner should also see a hefty payday for his starring turn in "Max Steel." Based on a Mattel toy line and comic book tie-in, the action flick would feature Lautner as an extreme-sports star. who encounters nano-machines that endow him with superpowers. The script is still being tweaked, though, leaving the actor free to jump into "Northern Lights" with Cruise in the spring, just a couple of months before the arrival in theaters of the next "Twilight" film, "Eclipse," whose script recently leaked online! Who was in charge of the leak, might you ask? Apparently it was Jackson Rathbone, who plays Jasper Cullen! We doubt this will effect "Eclipse's" box office appeal, these vamps are cash cows! Selena Gomez has a lot to be excited about!

The Latina Disney star recently announced the creation of her new band, "The Scene," as well as the name of her upcoming debut album, Kiss and Tell.  Her new single, "Falling Down," is due out in a few days y la cantactriz has been working on her new music video (see the photo she posted from her video shoot here!).  In addition to her budding music career, Selena just won a Teen Choice Award for her role in Disney summer TV-movie Princess Protection Program with Demi Lovato, and is promoting the upcoming TV release of Wizards of Waverly Place: The Movie (August 28th).

When we asked the bewitching tejana what her favorite part of shooting on location for Wizards in Puerto Rico was, she was quick to respond:

My favorite part of shooting in Puerto Rico would have to be the food and the people.  The people were very nice.  My favorite food there were the rice and beans, for sure.  They were so good!

Guess we'll have to put an order in to abuelita, porque Selena's making us hungry!

But what we really wanted to get out of Selena was something no one else knows about.  Tu sabes, the juicy chisme!  May we present to you, dos cositas you did not already know about Selena Gomez!

Last night's Teen Choice Awards were full of fun and surprises from Britney Spears accepting the Ultimate Choice Award from Miley Cyrus, to hosts the Jonas Brothers acting out several crazy dares (getting "tattooed" by Kat Von D AND getting a haircut from Mike Tyson onstage?!)  And of course there were things that were not quite as surprising, como Twilight cleaning up with ELEVEN awards.

Demi Lovato spoke exclusively to MTV News about being single and dealing with all of the tabloid madness.

Can the new Footloose give the '80s edition a run for its money?

With one of show biz's hottest guys at the helm, it's definitely possible.

Paramount Pictures has announced that Gossip Girl's Chace Crawford will play Ren McCormack, the starring role that Kevin Bacon danced his way through in 1984.  Crawford contemporary Zac Efron was originally slated for the lead but turned it down, telling EW.com that he didn't want to break out his Sunday shoes for fear that he was becoming the teen musical go-to hombre.  Efron will instead tackle a more somber role as a cemetary caretaker in The Death and Life of Charlie St. Cloud, with 17 Again director Burt Steers, releasing in 2010.

Now that the leading man is locked, which Hollywood honey will play Ariel Moore, the character originally interpreted by Lori Singer?  According to the MTV Movies blog, rumors of Heroes' Hayden Panettiere and musical movie vets Amanda Bynes and Miley Cyrus are abuzz.

The remake will be directed by HSM's Kenny Ortega.

Warning: This tune will stay stuck in your head for hours upon hours!

We are sure David Archuleta and Miley Cyrus fans are prepared to endure everything possible to get a sneak peek at their new duet, "I Wanna Know You." We guess the "Crush" singer has a thing for cameos since he also played himself in last year's iCarly episode, or perhaps he just has a thing for Little Miss Hannah Montana. The duet will officially air on May 3rd, but get your first listen of Miley and David's duet right here.

No wonder most chicas secretly dream of walking in Miley Cyrus' cowgirl boots...

The "Hannah Montana: The Movie" star made record breaking ticket sales for starring in the highest grossing rated-G film in the history of cinematography. Although some skeptics doubted whether Miley could dominate the box office, the country girl stacked-up $32 million during opening weekend, which quickly toppled "The Fast and the Furious" number one spot. All we have to say is that Disney better renew her contract before it expires!
