We're excited about the premiere of 'Somos El Mundo' (i.e. 'We Are The World' en Español) esta noche! The music video, produced by Emilio Estefan, Quincy Jones and Univision, features an all-star roster of performers, including newly confirmed Ricky Martin, Shakira, Daddy Yankee, Luis Miguel, Gloria Trevi, and Belinda. Previously announced talent include Aventura, Pitbull, Chayanne, Juanes, Luis Fonsi, Thalia, Paulina Rubio, Tito "El Bambino," Juan Luis Guerra, Taboo of Black Eyed Peas, Jenni Rivera, Gloria Estefan, Alacranes Musical, Pee Wee, y muchos, muchos más! The video was produced as a companion to the new (English-version) 'We Are The World' video that was created to support Haiti following the massive earthquake that shook the nation. Y ahora, con el terremoto en Chile este fin de semana, a Spanish version of the song couldn't be more fitting. Following the 10pm premiere of the video, you can find more info on the epic collaboration at www.somoselmundo.org, so make sure to check that out after 10pm! One of the greatest nights in Latin music came alive with a spectacular three-stage opening performance featuring Chayanne, Thalía and Alejandro Fernández who sang some of their most recent hits as well as long time favorites.

Reggaeton king Daddy Yankee surprised everyone with one of the biggest productions of the night set against a virtual, futuristic backdrop that included a special lightning effect for the live, blowout premiere of his latest single “Descontrol.”

While bachata group Aventura mesmerized the audience as they flew through the arena on top of a bridge for their medley performance of “Su Veneno” and the live premiere of “Dile al Amor.”

Pop diva Paulina Rubio performed an exclusive remix of her most recent hit “Ni Rosas Ni Juguetes,” which was broadcast with a special black and white effect, only seen by viewers at home, resembling an old wild-west movie.

Additional performances included: Héctor “El Torito” Acosta's “Sin Perdón” with Colombian duo Jorge Celedón and Jimmy Zambrano, Paquita la Del Barrio sang “Rata de Dos Patas”; Nelly Furtado’s crossover performance of “Manos al Aire,” pop artist Pee Wee’s performance of a special mix of his hit “Quédate”; Jenni Rivera’s performance of “Ya Lo Sé"; the live debut of Tito “El Bambino’s” new single “Te Pido Perdón”; Alejandro Fernández and Chayanne performed their respective hits “Se Me Va La Voz” and “Me Enamoré de Ti”; and a fantastic closing number by Puerto Rican merengue group Grupo Manía which brought the audience to its feet.

PeeWee has publicly confirmed he has no interest in a reunion between himself, A.B. Quintanilla, and Cruz Martinez. We've known for some time that Pee Wee has been focusing on his solo career, but the fact that he hasn't dropped an album as of yet left fans speculating and hoping that he may join forces with his old band mates again.

Pee Wee was recently asked by NXclusiva if he would join forces again with A.B. and Cruz on stage, and had this to say:
“The truth is that I am focused on my career and that would be like taking a step backwards instead of forwards, no?”
We can't argue with that! [LatinGossip]
Mientras tanto, you can catch PeeWee este lunes in a super-especial capítulo de Quiero Mis Quinces, when el cantante makes una quinceañera's biggest dreams come true!! No te lo pierdas, this Monday at 9pm EST!

Looks like we have another novela turned pop star grupo! Eight actors from Camaleones have formed a pop group named, what else, grupo Camaleones. The octet, which does not include Belinda, Alfonso Herrera or Pee Wee are slated to release an album later this month.
We'll have to wait and see whether this group will get close to RBD's success.

What do you think? Will you buy their album? [Latin Gossip]

If you missed Los Premios MTV 2009 last night on MTV Tr3s and you're kicking yourself for it today, we really can't say we blame you... Between all the amazing multi-city performances from artists like Shakira, Alejandro Sanz, Cobra Starship with Paulina Rubio, and Fall Out Boy, to name a few, it's really hard to pinpoint which one thrilled us the most. Even host Nelly Furtado got down and kicked off the night with her own performance. And say what you may about her co-host, Residente Calle 13, no se puede negar que el hombre es honesto!
The night was filled with all kinds of celebs, from runway supermodels like Alessandra Ambrosio, young pop heartthrobs like Pee Wee, living legends like Morrissey, to teen icons like Ashley Tisdale. We even got word of the possible spark of a romance between Wilmer Valderrama and Audrina Patridge (eso dicen our backstage spies, pero ya veremos). MTV Tr3s filled two of the Los Premios categories by awarding Aventura with Best MTV Tr3s Artist, and Da'Zoo as Best New MTV Tr3s Artist. But the biggest ganadores of the night were undoubtedly Wisin y Yandel, Panda, and the fashionably intriguing Lady Gaga, who all took home multiple "lenguas."
Wisin y Yandel won awards for "Vidéo del Año" and "Artista del Año"

Panda took home trés Premios for "Mejor Grupo o Dúo," "Mejor Artista Alternativo," and "Mejor Artista Norte"

Lady Gaga was awarded two "tongues" for "Mejor Artista Nuevo Internacional" and "Canción del Año"

Felicidades a todos, it's well deserved!

Pregnancy rumors came spilling in after bella cantactriz Belinda fainted on the set of su telenovela, Camaleones, in which she stars opposite Pee Wee and Alfonso "Poncho" Herrera, last week.

Others attributed el desmayo to her recent break-up con jugador de fútbol, Giovani Dos Santos, after being caught partying with another guy at a nightclub. That might be more likely, since Camaleones producer, Rosy Ocampo, has now confirmed that Belinda is indeed NOT pregnant. Menos mal! [Latin Gossip]

Looks like there is life after RBD. With Anahí's solo single "Mi Delirio" picking up steam and Poncho appearing en la novela Camaleones with Pee Wee and Belinda, the careers of los rebeldes don't seem to be suffering all that much since the demise de la banda. So what has Dulce María been working on since wrapping up su más reciente telenovela, Verano De Amor?

Dulce María has started working on her debut solo album, and she's got big plans for her upcoming career. La cantante peliroja recently revealed that she wants her new album to be a reflection of the "real" her.

Dulce will start recording her first solo album in September. We already can't wait to hear what she's got in store, but the album won't drop 'til 2010, así que nos tenemos que aguantar in the meantime.
Cuentanos, what do you think about the news of Dulce's upcoming solo album? Do you think los Rebeldes can cut it as solo artists, or should they have stayed with RBD por siempre? [Quien]
